About

After too many years, I have retired and am spending much of my time working with my photography. I’ve been an occasional photographer since about 1966 when I was in high school. I moved from yearbook photography to more serious work, including large format images, and have always preferred black and white. I have a Nikon DSLR for “snapshot” stuff but find that I use my smartphone most often for those images. My serious work these days is done with a Toyo Omega 4×5. And yes, I like to do my own darkroom work.

Occasionally someone will ask me what kind of photographs I take. I’ve always found that a hard question to answer. The best answer I’ve come up with is “black and white still lifes and nature”. But I feel even my best answer is inadequate. I will say my tastes are quite eclectic and odd at times. But in all cases, my images must please me because that’s who I’m doing it for. If you or someone else finds these photographs enjoyable and pleasing, that is just icing on the cake for me. I do like icing and I hope you do too!
